The craftsman
Six decades at the same workbench
Bennie Dekker qualified as a piano technician in 1965 and spent thirteen years on the factory floor at Otto Bach and Dietmann — learning the instrument from the soundboard out, not from a manual.
Since 1973 he has been the preferred piano tuner for Unisa, and today the Klavier Sentrum is the sole importer and supplier of Dietmann pianos in Southern Africa.
He is a member of SAAPPT, the South African Association for Professional Piano Tuners, and of the International Association of Piano Builders and Technicians.

Try the piano before you buy the piano
Starting lessons is a leap of faith. Our renting scheme takes the risk out of it: rent a quality piano for six months or longer while your beginner finds their feet.
Decide to keep it, and the first six months’ rental comes straight off the purchase price. Decide it isn’t for you, and we simply collect it.
